The Asian-Latino Borderlands w/ Dr. Lucero Estrella

Dr. Lucero Estrella, Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies at Lawrence University, joins WALC’s Immigration Learning Circle to educate us more on the Asian-Latino border.

When we hear about the U.S.-Mexico border, we rarely hear about the Asian migrants and Asian-Latino communities that have lived in those regions. Why have these histories been erased? Whose responsibility is it to share these stories? Dr. Estrella’s collaborations with the Asian-Latino communities across northern Mexico and Texas show that these communities have worked hard to preserve and tell the lesser-known histories of the Asian-Latino Borderlands.
