Over the past year, the Winnebago Area Literacy Council has been proud to support over 70 employees at the Amcor Oshkosh North Plant in building their English.
Classes take place on-site at the Amcor Oshkosh North Plant and meet weekly for an hour. Learners focus on both practical everyday English, as well as specific manufacturing vocabulary.
Throughout the year, the learners completed three summative assessments to track their language growth. Across all four language domains there was consistent growth, with a 31% increase in reading, 21% in writing, 18% in speaking, and 11% in listening.
