Jeanne Keiler (she/her)
English Language Teacher

Jeanne began tutoring at WALC in 2016, where she quickly realized she wanted to deepen her knowledge of teaching English. She enrolled in a course through Fox Valley Technical College to become certified in teaching English as a second language. After continuing to tutor, she was soon offered a position teaching once a week.

Around the same time, Jeanne began volunteering with the Women & Children program, where she helped care for children. Over the years, her involvement in teaching steadily grew. During COVID, with the help of Michele Sliwicki, WALC transitioned to offering online classes. Jeanne is now grateful to be back in the classroom and excited to see the program’s continued growth.

What does literacy mean to you?
