WALC’s Workplace Literacy program was a topic of discussion at Wisconsin Literacy’s Winter Conference last week. The session, ‘Literacy in the Workplace: Building Sustainable Futures through Meaningful Partnerships’, spotlighted the collaboration between WALC and the Amcor Oshkosh North plant to offer weekly on-site English classes.
WALC Executive Director, Dr. Chu May Paing, and Education Programs Coordinator, Emma Eiden, presented alongside Diana Hernandez, a Human Resources Generalist at Amcor Oshkosh North highlighting how the partnership came to be, each parties role, the contents of the class, and the impact it has had so far.
It was a compelling session with an active chat full of questions from nearly 50 attendees. You can view a recording of the session here.
