Teacher Spotlight: Machaela Jackson

Say hello to Machaela Jackson!

Machaela is an ELL teacher at WALC’s Learning Center, as well as the Paving Education Pathways program. She is a Fox Valley Technical College and University of Wisconsin Oshkosh graduate with degrees in Early Childhood and Secondary Education, with a minor in English Language Arts. Her role has pushed her to challenge what she had initially expected, growing in such admirable ways and building remarkable connections with learners, volunteers, and other teachers alike. She isn’t just teaching to teach; she is teaching to learn. When asked what she loves most about being a teacher, she expressed that the learners are “some of the most genuine people” she has ever met.

In Machaela’s free time, she loves writing and spending quality time with her children.

A fun fact about Machaela is that she is a published author! Writing has always been a source of comfort and creativity for her, allowing her to explore the intricacies of storytelling. She currently has two books published, My Othello and If You Had Chosen Me, both available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
